i like a lot of the `organic' style of mr. daniel garcia's magic but the trick `daley's revenge' does not make sense at all to me.
`the last trick of dr. daley' is a wonderful effect with a lovely plot that is simple to comprehend and convey and the mechanics involved are not too difficult. over the years i have seen many different presentations and twists of the original but this one sucked. not something i expect from `dg'.
on the other hand look how a simple addition of a new presentation twist added a fun element to this great trick in this john bannon rendition
see the power and beauty of simplicity :)

u r right indeed ... the trend now a days is to release single tricks for some dollars and to hype up the promo video so that unsuspecting teens spend their dollars on the downloads ...
coming back to the design of this particular version i can't make heads or tails of it. what were the goals and intentions to begin with? was he not happy with the premise of the trick? did he want a standup version? did he want to include the whole deck instead of a small packet?
nothing is clear ... its all confusion.
may be laymen will be amazed ... of course they will be ... don't know exactly what they will like ... perhaps if they r shown both the garcia version and the bannon version they might perceive of the tricks as two entirely different tricks. there is no saying what the laymen will think.
in any eventuality it is a breeding ground of confusion and a goal less performance.
